My Story

Dr. Shannon Heintz, a 2020 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, knew she wanted to work with animals from a young age.

“I always loved medicine and science, and I wanted to apply this passion to treat and advocate for animals,” she says. Her professional veterinary interests include dentistry, dermatology, surgery, and neurology. She has a particular passion for veterinary dentistry because it has such a profound effect on her patients. She attends the AVMA, AAFP, and VDF conferences each year.

Dr. Heintz, who grew up along the east coast, earned an undergraduate degree in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and Animal Biosciences with a minor in Biochemistry at the University of Delaware. She is a proud member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Feline Practitioners. Additionally, Dr. Heintz is one of two veterinarians at AFVC who underwent special training in order to perform ultrasounds.

Among her hobbies are hiking, traveling, painting, yoga, and cooking. She shares her life with Kiwi, a tuxedo cat who she says is “dermatologically challenged".

Audubon NJ Vet Fear Free
Cat Friendly Veterinarian
" After a failed visit at animal first Haddon township that doctor was only interested in blood work and exrays. He would not give me any info on why my cat was not eating without paying for tests. So I went online and came across this place. I'm so glad I did Dr. Shannon Heintz she really gave me a lot of options for my cat who was not eating and not using her litter for dys. She was very nice and kind and very gentle with Chloe the medicine she gave Chloe the next day Chloe was back to her usual self jumping for Joy. I truly recommend Audubon Family Veterinary the staff and doctors are Great!! "
